On Kakhetian Dialect Vocabulary (Based on the Texts of GDC)

We have studied the dialect texts published in the Georgian Dialect Corpus that were recorded at different times in different regions of Kakheti. Kakhetian vocabulary is currently being clarified and the dictionary is being compiled. This is especially important because there is no Kakhetian vocabulary presented as a separate dictionary. We have compared some of the materials of Kakhetian vocabulary with the existing dialect dictionaries, as well as with the Georgian Explanatory Dictionary. A number of the Kakhetian lexical units have been attested in the vocabularies of other dialects as well but with different meanings. We present the results of the research.
