Beliefs Connected to the Agrarian Culture

Belief about agrarian culture have existed all over the word since ancient times. People pray to deity for abundant crops. They asked god or goddesses for suitable weather for good harvest and welfare. Agricultural deities existed in Georgia as well. In a Christian era Georgian people prayed to the Christian Saints instead of the deity. One of the historical-ethnographic region named Samegrelo people performed rituals around the earthenware vessel named Kvevri, in cellar or open air as well. The topic is about agrarian culture and worship in Samegrelo. The rituals in which agrarian cult had mane place is discussed.
